Bucelas

Gastronomy is an important element which characterizes the ethnography of saloia region. People who took their livelihood from land, including fruit and vegetables, have created true gastronomic treasures by using the products they cultivated and supplied the markets of Lisbon. Apart from land cultivation, the saloios integrated yet hunting products, fishing and herding and they supplied the capital with meat and dairy. Thanks to this variety of local resources saloia’s cuisine is so rich and tasty.
